Comments.

1. I draw my own porn.

2. I party with some pretty weird people.

3. We don't talk about (1) or (2) here. We also don't talk about The Unspeakable. Everything else is game.

While I have my reasons for continuing in these activities, either one invites any number of potentially embarassing and/or incriminating comments, often by people who are either not interested in using email or genuinely have no idea they're about to irritate the hell out of me by hitting the "post" button. Combine the two and you have a hard lesson in what to post on the internet and who to give your handle to (also drunkeness, one-nighters). You wind up with an HST/WSB-flavored inbox and being "respectable" requires Republican-grade levels of spin control and/or reality modelling.

Comments relating to (1) or (2) go quietly into the dark night, in the interests of keeping DCR lame-free and so forth. There's plenty of fun to be had with (3).

Holy crap the markup sucks.

Yeah, it does. This has been pointed out several times with varying degrees of smugness, alarm, and/or consternation by people who either like mucking about with html and css, or (more frequently) people who get paid to do so. The peanut gallery rarely sees fit to include working examples with their complaints and admonishments, which doesn't do much to convince me of the "rightness" of their approach.

I don't get paid to write markup and I don't like doing it (at all), so I settle for the site looking more-or-less uniform across the common browsers. If the ugliness of the page "source" offends you, close the window and go back to the content, since that's the focus here.

What is Dead City Radio?
Elsewhere

(a) A spoken word album by William S. Burroughs, author of Naked Lunch, etc. There are worse people to be influenced by.

(b) Several bands. (DCR.de) (DCR.uk) and (DCR.us). Generally speaking, not the sort of sounds I'm prone to enjoying. // Not into the four-piece, not into the alt-rock, definitely not into the two turntables and a micraphone, etc (generally speaking).

Local

(c) Iron City {counter|sub|alt|anti} cultural preservation and awareness.

(d) A culturally/temporally accurate ATC story.

(f) Also a comic/{photo}blog. Iron City Centric assuming certain levels of selective reality- a choice selection that can get pretty strained at times.
